It must be noted that Rathod is contesting against Mallikarjun Kharge's son Priyank Kharge in Chittapur constituency in the upcoming Karnataka polls.

On Sunday, Shiva Rajkumar campaigned for Congress candidate and his brother-in-law Madhu Bangarappa in Anavatti, Shivamogga district where he took part in a roadshow.

The issue is connected to Annamalai's recent saga of exposing the assets and investments of the top DMK leaders in the name of 'DMK Files'. 

As the scheme is gaining traction, the Congress leader vowed that it will be implemented as soon as the party comes to power in Karnataka.

As the campaigns between both the parties are getting intensified, the war of words is scorching and Kharge's remarks have exhibited that trend.

Annamalai has released two audios so far and though the source of these tapes remains unclear, they have become BJP's new weapon to spearhead a campaign against the ruling DMK. 

The state has 224 constituencies and the opinion polls have predicted that the Congress party will triumph the elections with a clear majority.

Veteran BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, K S Eshwarappa on Monday said that the BJP doesn't need Muslim votes in Shivamogga in the upcoming Karnataka assembly polls.

Edappadi Palaniswami has backtracked his decision and announced that the party's lone candidate in Karnataka would pull out from the contest, which would make ADMK come out of the race in Karnataka.

Though the audio remains unverified, the BJP functionaries are spreading it to attack the state ruling party.
