In what has been seen as an apparent boycott, the Central leadership has shocked the state leaders by dropping off the office-bearers from the state.

By giving a special and deserved sendoff, the Chief Minister said that the singer holds a place in the hearts of the people not only from Tamil Nadu but across the nation.

Reputed faces like director Bharathiraja, who was the close friend of the deceased singer nearly for five decades, actor Arjun, and singer Mano went to the farmhouse and paid their last respects.

The phenomenon and precious asset for the nation had breathed his last after valiantly fighting for survival for around 50 days.

"The world has become nothing here. I don't know anything in this world. I can't speak, I am left with no words", Ilayaraaja pays tribute to his dear SPB.

His demise has birthed a void in the musical world, which he ruled for over five decades through his immense and unparalleled contribution.
