Stalin's announcement of increasing the compensation and incentive for journalists has come weeks after he declared the journalists as the frontline workers in the state.

The scam was allegedly unfolded with the involvement of officials and it had happened under the guise of allotting beds for the COVID-19 affected patients. 

Tamil Nadu Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan said that 181 cases of Black Fungus infection have been reported in the state till Monday, and efforts are taken to subdue the spread of the infection.
