As his tweet was going viral, Tamil Nadu State Election Commission has issued a clarification in which it has affirmed that no one has cast L Murugan's vote.

As the BJP has decided to field Murugan in Madhya Pradesh, Congress has decided not to contest in the polls and Murugan will become MP for the first time, unopposed. 

Murugan was appointed as the Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. 

Previous party president L Murugan has taken charge as the Union Minister of State on Thursday and hours after he took up his new task, the BJP leadership has finalized his successor.

While the Union Minister post is the reward for Murugan from Modi for delivering four BJP MLAs in the recently-held state assembly polls, the new president would have a pile of challenges going in the flow.

Two months after losing the elections, Murugan has now won a place in Modi's cabinet as the Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying.
