The High Court bench made it clear that any decision taken by the committee will only be applicable from the next academic year - 2021-22.

Kausalya adds "I haven't lost trust in the courts. We will appeal to the Supreme court. We won't stop until justice is served.

While Kausalya's mother welcomed the verdict of acquittal, Kausalya has taken a tough stance and said she would move to the Supreme Court against the acquittal of her father.

The court said that petitioners shouldn't be treated as criminals because they had violated visa norms and it further called for empathy and understanding of their situation.
