The state governments of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Andhra Pradesh have deployed the frontliners as the shores of three states are preparing for the landfall of Cyclone Mandous.
On Sunday, Chennai and its suburbs had rainy dusk with incessant rainfall and thunderstorms. The sudden downpour has caused major disruption and several areas in the city were waterlogged.
Several parts of the city including the downtown and outskirts had witnessed heavy rainfall and the rainfall had inundated important roads in the city.
The Chief Minister had declared a public holiday on Wednesday and he appealed to the people not to exit their residences until everything gets into normalcy.
