A 28-year-old case in Uttar Pradesh has come to an end with awarding five-year incarceration to a sitting BJP MLA.

After three days of remaining under detention, the Uttar Pradesh government had released her on Wednesday, after Rahul Gandhi had arrived in Sitapur to meet her. 

Rahul Gandhi had arrived in Sitapur and met his sister Priyanka Gandhi and the government has said that three people can accompany the Gandhis to Lakhimpur Kheri.

The two Chief Ministers who are going to accompany Rahul Gandhi are Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Channi and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. 

The High Court bench headed by Justice Shekhar Yadav observed that the cow should be declared a national animal and cow protection should be a fundamental right of Hindus.
