Tamil Nadu rains the rampant rise of Dengue!

In the wake of accounted for unprecedented rise of Dengue epidemic and predicted to have rampant grounds of the epidemic amidst the northeast monsoon, the state of Tamil Nadu has been flagging the possible counter measures in place to lower the spread of the deadliest epidemic in the state where the government hospitals across the state, which house most of the Dengue affected patients, have decided to conduct 'Dengue Prevention Day' every week to enhance the parameters towards countering the rampant raise of the epidemic.

By pioneering such awareness event, the Dean of Rajiv Gandhi government general hospital in Chennai had said that the hospital administration had given directives towards observing and conducting awareness event on tightening the mechanisms where the people will collectively go around the premises of the hospital and remove the garbage and trashes on the grounds of the hospital to ensure that the trashes won't water the eggs of the mosquito that spreads Dengue. The reports say that the hospital had hosted an inauguration ceremony with the motive of taking the campaign to the reach of every people.

Adding to the preparedness, the state health department had issued circulars to all the government hospitals in the state advising the managements to wash and clean the tanks and drums at least once in a week to make sure that no such places become venue for laying the eggs and further said that the uncleaned premises and the premises that grow Aedes mosquito will be served with legal action under Tamil Nadu Public Health Act 1939 and the reports had cited that state government authorities will be reaching to the Indian Medical Association to instruct the private hospitals to abide by the counter measures in its premises.

It has been revealed that about 3,400 dengue cases have been reported in the state since this year in which three people have died and the authorities had indicated that the state may possibly encounter more dengue cases as it welcomes Northeast monsoon where the authorities had estimated that nearly 4,500 cases would be reported in the state by the end of the year that had shown the uncertain grounds of the state where in order to tackle the disease, all the government hospitals across the state had installed separate fever wards, additional wards and intensive care units exclusively for Dengue patients.

The reports further added that the awareness campaign will train the housekeeping staff in the hospitals on the ways to have safe and clean environment by reducing the  mosquito population.

In 2018, the state of Tamil Nadu had accounted for total of 4486 Dengue cases in which about 13 people had died and the health department had cited that despite of the countermeasures, the numbers will be similar in this year where for this year, the districts like Chennai, Tiruvallur and Kancheepuram had reported with more cases.
