Thala Ajith rules Twitter in 2021...What about Vijay? Here are the most tweeted hashtags in India!

On the hashtag day, Twitter has revealed the intense hashtag war between the ardent fans of Ajith and Vijay over trending their movies on the micro-blogging site. On Monday, Twitter has released India's most tweeted hashtags for six months from January 1, 2021, to June 30, 2021, and the list has shown how these two Tamil actors had dominated the platform in the first half of the year. Movies have majorly occupied the room of the most tweeted hashtags in India.

The fans of Ajith had got high scale celebrations than the fans of actor Vijay as Ajith's upcoming movie 'Valimai' has topped the list as India's most tweeted hashtag while Vijay's 'Master' had fallen behind Valimai to the second place in the list. On Monday, Twitter India tweeted, "It's #HashtagDay, so you know what that means! Here's the list of the most Tweeted hashtags in India in the first half of 2021." While Valimai had topped the table followed by Master, the hashtags of Ajith Kumar and Thalapathy 65 were placed at the fourth and fifth in the list respectively.

Mahesh Babu's Telugu film 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata' had ranked third place and the bottom five hashtags are - iHeart Radio, TV actress and Bigg Boss 14 winner Rubina Dilaik, South Korean band BTS, Covid-19, and Telugu star Pawan Kalyan starred 'Vakeel Saab'. The top ten list has also revealed how the South Indian cinema fans are rampant on Twitter and tweeting about their favourite actors, their new movies, and updates. Twitter has a significant and scaling number of users from South India and even Covid-19 has been one of the national topics for over a year, Indians had given a space for the pandemic in the list of most tweeted hashtags.

Ever since the news broke out about Valimai being the top of the table as India's most tweeted hashtag, Ajith fans had gone agog and relished the news as they have got yet another prospect to display how the actor is being loved across generations. Ajith fans are storming towards Twitter and began tweeting the news and some Ajith fans had claimed that Ajith has been ruling social media platforms without having any official social media account. On the other hand, the fans of Vijay had countered Ajith fans that Vijay's movies are dominating the hashtag and his next movie 'Beast' is in the making and the fans claim that Beast is on the way to dominate the social media. 

It must be noted that this is not the first time that Vijay is making to the list of most tweeted hashtags as in 2020, his selfie with the fans was the most retweeted tweet and his previous movies like Mersal, Sarkar, Bigil, and Master had occupied the Twitter stage and won a place under different categories including Top Hashtag trends, most Influential moments, and most tweeted hashtags.

It also must be noted that Master, Vakeel Saab, and Valimai were also featured in the last year's list of most tweeted hashtags. Valimai is an upcoming action thriller movie starred by Ajith and Huma Qureshi while Kartikeya Gummakonda, Yogi Babu, and Pearle Maaney play important roles. While the movie is bankrolled by Boney Kapoor under the banner of Bayview Projects, Valimai is directed by H Vinoth and Yuvan Shankar Raja composes the music.

The Twitter hashtag was born in 2007 and it has celebrated its 14th anniversary on August 23rd as a #HashtagDay. In 14 years, the hashtag culture has become a part of our lives as we are using hashtags to trend the article or movies and to express our opinion. In the first half of the year, 12.6 billion Tweets had carried at least one hashtag and to celebrate the moment, Twitter has launched a #HashtagDay emoji.
