In what has become a massive announcement, Vijay's next, which has been tentatively named as Thalapathy 65, has poured relishing news to the ardent fans of Thalapathy and the audiences as the movie team has unveiled who is going to play the female lead in the movie. The announcement has ended the race of speculations on the possibilities of who will get a ticket to play the female lead.
The announcement has come three months after unveiling the confirmation that Thalapathy 65 has got the director and it will be directed by 'Kolamaavu Kokila' fame Nelson Dhilipkumar. Thalapathy 65 is bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran under his banner Sun Pictures and the announcement of the movie had stirred large-scale expectations from the fans. While the fans are filled with speculations over the crew, the movie team has been finalizing the entire cast of the movie.
Amid much anticipations, Sun Pictures has on Wednesday revealed that Pooja Hegde will play as the female lead in Thalapathy 65. Taking to Twitter, Sun Pictures said, "The gorgeous @hegdepooja onboard as the female lead of #Thalapathy65!". The production house has also released a video in which it had said, "Your hearts are about to be stolen. Welcoming on board, the stunning Diva Pooja Hegde".
Since the divulgence of the female lead was made on social media, the ardent fans of Vijay have been rampantly sharing the news across all the handles, which displayed their expectations and how the announcement had relished them. Moreover, Thalapathy 65 in the first movie for Vijay to work with Pooja Hegde and with Nelson Dhilipkumar. Given his success in his first movie as the director, the fans expect that Nelson Dhilipkumar would make an allegory of staying off from the typical Vijay movies.
Last month, the reports close to the developments had confirmed that Pooja Hedge has been signed as the female lead of the movie. However, the movie team didn't offer an official announcement and after six weeks, Sun Pictures has officially confirmed that Pooja Hegde will play the female lead. Thalapathy 65 would mark a huge comeback for Pooja Hegde into the Tamil cinema industry.
Pooja Hedge has made her debut in Tamil through Mysskin's directorial 'Mugamoodi'. However, following the failure of the movie, she went to Telugu and predominantly working in Tollywood and she also had appeared in few Bollywood films. Through Thalapathy 65, she would be returning to the Tamil cinema industry after eight years and she will be joining hands with Vijay for the first time through the movie, which has been speculated to be an action-drama.
Pooja Hedge was last seen in the Telugu movie 'Ala Vaikuntapuramloo' and she shared the screen with Allu Arjun. Last month, Pooja Hegde had wrapped up shooting for her portions for Radhe Shyam which is being shot in Telugu and Hindi. As Sun Pictures has announced the female lead, it has been expected that the movie will go on the floor for shooting soon, and if everything goes well as per the plan, the movie will hit the big screens largely for this year's Diwali.
Vijay was last seen in 'Master' which has become a blockbuster hit worldwide after grossing over Rs 200 crores within days of release. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Master was produced by Xavier Britto under the banners of XB Film Creators and Vijay Sethupathi had played the antagonist against Vijay. The movie also stars Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah, Shanthan Bhagyaraj, and Gauri Kishan in important roles. Following Master, Vijay has now joined hands with Nelson Dilipkumar for the first time and Anirudh will be composing music for Thalapathy 65.
