Thalapathy 67: Actor Vijay is all set to play his second innings with this successful director!

Thalapathy Vijay is currently in the outing with Telugu director Vamsi Paidapally for what has been tentatively titled 'Thalapathy 66'. In the midst of the shooting for this project, which has been taking place in Hyderabad, the talks for the actor's next 'Thalapathy 67' have begun and have been taking the social media by storm and surprise. 

In what has become a relishing piece of news for Vijay fans, the actor is all set for his second innings with Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is one of the successful directors in Kollywood. While there were several speculations made around Thalapathy 67, Lokesh Kanagaraj has confirmed that he will be helming Vijay's next project. Speaking at an award ceremony in Chennai after accepting an award, Lokesh has admitted that he is doing to join hands with Vijay for the second time. 

Lokesh Kanagaraj has directed Vijay in the blockbuster movie 'Master', which had given a promising respite for the theatres that suffered a financial catastrophe owing to the Covid-19 pandemic and the lockdown. Following Master, Vijay has acted in Nelson Dilipkumar's directorial 'Beast' and after Thalapathy 66, the actor will be playing his second innings with Lokesh for Thalapathy 67. 

The fans are celebrating the development and the visual of Lokesh's confirmation of directing Vijay has been rampant across social media. Lokesh, who is currently awaiting the release of his upcoming movie 'Vikram', has further said that an official announcement about directing Vijay will be made after the release of Vikram on June 3. After the spectacular Master, the fans hope that the reunion would present an upbeat treat for them.  

Vijay is acting in Thalapathy 66, bankrolled by Dil Raju and helmed by Vamshi Paidipally. While Vijay plays the lead role, Rashmika Mandanna, Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Shaam, Prabhu, Yogi Babu, and Srikanth will be important roles while Thaman has composed the music. On the other hand, Lokesh Kanagaraj awaits the release of his movie 'Vikram' starred by Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Fahadh Faasil.

Vikram has been slated for a theatrical release on June 3 after which Lokesh will announce his next project with Vijay. It has been speculated that Yuvan Shankar Raja will be composing the music for Thalapathy 67. Vijay's latest picture from Thalapathy 66, shared by Prakash Raj has been going viral and the movie has targeted the release during Pongal 2023.
