Thalapathy Vijay is all set to join hands with this popular actor for the first time in 12 years!

Kollywood has been buzzed with Thalapathy 66 as the movie is expected to hit the floor for the shooting soon. Being tentatively named Thalapathy 66, the movie team has been in the process of finalizing the crew before Vijay joins the project after completing his segment in Beast. Vijay has joined hands with Telugu director Vamsi Paidipally, who helms Thalapathy 66, which will be bankrolled by famous Tollywood producer Dil Raju. 

The movie team is currently working out the first phase of the schedule of shooting, which is expected to begin later this year. As inching towards the shooting, the ardent Vijay fans have been receiving updates from Thalapathy 66 and in line with that, the latest update is that Vijay is going to join hands with popular actor Prakash Raj for the first time in 12 years in Thalapthy 66. Prakash Raj would be playing a crucial role in Thalapathy 66 and the team will issue the official confirmation soon. 

Vijay and Prakash Raj had acted together in 'Villu' for the last time in 2009 and Thalapathy 66 has brought them again on the same screen after 12 years. Another big update that had come from Thalapathy 66 two days back is that Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu's daughter Sitara Ghattamaneni is going to play an important role in Thalapathy 66. As the movie involves a segment of father-daughter bonding, the team has approached Mahesh Babu to sign her daughter for the role with Vijay.

As Mahesh Babu is close to Vijay and the movie team, the reports say that he had accepted to let his daughter act in the movie. It was also buzzed that Telugu actor Nani will be playing the antagonist in Thalapathy 66 and the team is working out to finalize the cast. Dil Raju will be producing the movie under his banner Sri Venkateswara Creations and Thalapathy 66 has been touted to be a romance, emotions, and comedy film. 

Though there has been no official confirmation about Vijay's salary for this movie, it was said that as Vijay is going to join hands with the Tollywood team for the first time, Dil Raju had decided to offer Rs 120 crore as the salary to the actor. If the package gets confirmed, Vijay will become the highest-paid actor in India through Thalapathy 66. Vijay is currently busy with his upcoming movie 'Beast' helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Beast is bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran under his own banner Sun Pictures and while Vijay plays the lead role, Pooja Hegde, Selvaraghavan, Yogi Babu, Shine Tom Chacko, VTV Ganesh, Aparna Das, and Sathish Krishnan play important roles.
