Thalapathy Vijay and Venkat Prabhu has teamed up for the first time for a mega project, tentatively titled ‘Thalapathy 68’. The film, which is produced by AGS Entertainment and has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, is slated for a release in 2024. The announcement of the film has created a huge fanfare among the fans, as it marks the collaboration of two of the most popular names in Tamil cinema.

Venkat Prabhu, who is known for his quirky and entertaining films like Mankatha, Chennai 28, and Maanaadu, has revealed some interesting details about his film with Vijay in a recent media interaction. He said that the film is not a political drama, but a full-fledged entertainer that will cater to all sections of the audience. He also said that the pre-production work of the film is underway and that they are finalising the cast and crew of the movie.

The director also requested the media to not ask for any update regarding the film until November, as the actor's current project ‘Leo’, is still need to be wrapped.  Venkat Prabhu also said that he will make the official announcements regarding ‘Thalapathy 68’ only after the release of ‘Leo’, as he does not want to divert the attention from Vijay’s upcoming film.

He also said that he is very excited to work with Vijay, whom he considers as his brother. He said that he has been waiting for this opportunity for a long time and that he is confident of delivering a blockbuster with Vijay. ‘Thalapathy 68’ will mark the reunion of Vijay and Yuvan Shankar Raja after 20 years. The duo had worked together in Pudhiya Geethai, which was released in 2003.

Fans are eagerly waiting to hear the magical tunes of Yuvan for Vijay’s film. ‘Thalapathy 68’ will also be AGS Entertainment’s 25th production venture and their second film with Vijay after Bigil, which was a huge hit in 2019. Meanwhile, Leo is coming to theatres on 19th October 2023, which directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and stars Vijay, Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Priya Anand, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Mansoor Ali Khan, Sandy and Mathew Thomas. Anurag Kashyap appears in a cameo role. The movie’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
