Is Thani Oruvan brothers to join force again? Hear from the director!

In a highly-anticipated announcement, director Mohan Raja has confirmed that he and his brother, actor Jayam Ravi, will be teaming up once again for the sequel to their critically acclaimed film, "Thani Oruvan". The director made this announcement during the launch event of the upcoming film, "Soppana Sundhari", which stars the talented Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead role.

With the original film, "Thani Oruvan", having been a huge success, fans have been eagerly awaiting news of a sequel. And now, with Raja's announcement, it seems that their wishes will soon be fulfilled. The director revealed that the sequel will begin filming either later this year or in 2024. He said at the event, "Thani Oruvan 2 will surely go on the floors this year or next year."

"Thani Oruvan" was a taut thriller that kept audiences on the edge of their seats. The film stars Jayam Ravi, Arvind Swamy, and Nayanthara in the lead roles. The first film's story revolves around Mithran, an IPS officer, who is on a mission to expose Siddharth Abhimanyu, a scientist and businessman, who is involved in various illegal activities.

The film received critical acclaim for its storyline, performances, and technical aspects. It also became a commercial success at the box office and was later remade in Telugu as Dhruva, and in Bengali as One. The film was widely praised for its gripping storyline, strong performances, and slick direction. 

Sources says that the sequel may be bankrolled by Vels Film International. Fans are eagerly anticipating what new twists and turns Raja and Ravi will bring to the story. Now the director's announcement has only served to heighten this anticipation. The first film produced by Kalpathi S. Aghoram.  On workfront, Jayam Ravi to be seen next on Agilan directed by Kalyana Krishnan will be released in theatres on March 10. Meanwhile director Raja lastly helmed Lucifer's Telugu remake as Godfather which starred Chiranjeevi and Nayanthara.
