An actor from Tamil Nadu who has acted in a web series has been detained by the police after he made a hoax bomb call to a star hotel in Chennai on Wednesday.
According to the reports, Actor Kennedy John Gangadharan, who is a native of Puzhal, Chennai, has acted in web series and some short films. He has signed for a web series currently and the shooting of the web series was underway at a star hotel in Teynampet, Chennai.
On Wednesday, the manager of the production house, which is bankrolling the web series, has called the actor to meet him at the hotel for the shoot. Actor Kennedy had arrived at the hotel and waited for over an hour. However, the manager called him again and informed him that the shoot was canceled and told the actor to leave the hotel.
The reports say that upon being waited for over an hour, the actor went frustrated and disappointed that the shoot is canceled following which he reportedly made a hoax bomb call to the hotel at around 10.30 am on Wednesday. After threatening the hotel, he went on to call the police control room and said that a bomb has been placed in the hotel and it would get exploded in some minutes.
Following the call from nowhere, the police and the bomb disposal squad had rushed to the spot with a sniffer dog to locate and defuse the bomb. The authorities had sieved the hotel for over an hour and found out that the call was a hoax.
Following the development, they traced the number and located the actor. He was later arrested and taken for further interrogations. The reports stated that the Teynampet police had booked a case against the actor and during the investigation, the actor admitted that he made a hoax call after he was upset and frustrated after the shooting was canceled.
