TN BJP President L Murugan's son tests positive for COVID-19!

Tamil Nadu BJP President L Murugan's younger son has tested positive for the COVID-19 viral infection and has been getting treated in Chennai for the past four days. The development has warranted the BJP leader and the rest of the family members to undergo testing for the pandemic.

Murugan, his wife, and his elder son had undergone testing for COVID-19 and he said that all three of them had tested negative. The Chief of the Tamil Nadu BJP unit has been observing quarantine. Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, L Murugan wrote, "My younger son Indarajith tested COVID-19 positive. He is in hospital for the past four days. Myself, my elder son, and my wife tested negative. So, I'm in quarantine."

Murugan has contested in the recently-held Tamil Nadu assembly polls in BJP's ticket in the Dharapuram constituency. However, he had eventually lost the race to the DMK candidate. Tamil Nadu has been battling the horrendous second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. The state has been reporting a sharp surge in fresh cases with an increase in active cases and deaths. The state has been going through the lockdown and strict restrictions to contain the spread of the pandemic. 

On Monday, Tamil Nadu has reported 33,075 fresh cases, 20,486 discharges, and 335 deaths. Overall, the state has recorded 16,31,291 COVID-19 cases so far as of Monday of which 2,31,596 are active cases, 13,81,690 have been discharged, and 18,005 had succumbed to the viral infection.
