TN Chief Minister MK Stalin picks these four IAS officers to be his secretaries!

Hours after swearing-in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin has passed crucial orders including providing Rs 4,000 per family of rice ration holders as COVID relief and providing free bus travel for women. Stalin has also signed the order of transferring the bureaucrats and passed the directive of inducting four significant IAS officers as his secretaries. 

As per the order, T Udhayachandran, P Umanath, MS Shanmugam, and Anu George will be the secretaries of Chief Minister MK Stalin. According to reports, Udhayachandran, who is currently the Principal Secretary/ Commissioner of Archaeology will be posted as the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister with immediate effect. The government has also established three posts in the grade of Secretary to the Government. 

Stalin has passed the order to appoint P Umanath, MS Shanmugam, and Anu George to these three posts. The reports say that Umanath is currently the Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Medical Services Corporation and Shanmugam has been serving as the Commissioner of Museums. Anu George is the Industries Commissioner and the Director of Industries and Commerce in the Tamil Nadu government.   These four IAS officers will be directly reporting to MK Stalin. 

Of these four, three IAS officers are from Tamil Nadu. Besides appointing his secretaries, MK Stalin has also picked V Irai Anbu IAS as the Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu. Stalin has assumed the office of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on Friday after getting administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Banwarilal Purohit. Following the ceremony, Stalin had arrived at the Chief Secretariat and began his duties as the Chief Minister. 

After assuming the office, he had signed five orders and these orders have become crucial as they had concentrated on relaxing the burden of low and middle-class people as they endure financial distress brought by the pandemic. He also had convened his cabinet meeting and took stock of the COVID-19 situation in the state and held a virtual meeting with all the district collectors to understand the situation of the pandemic and containment measures in every district.
