TN's popular politician Nanjil Sampath is hospitalized...Here's what happened!

Popular political orator and litterateur in Tamil Nadu, Nanjil Sampath has been hospitalized in his native Kanniyakumari. Despite changing his affiliations to several Dravidian parties in the state, Sampath is well known for his public speaking and being a staunch Dravidian ideologist. 

He has been getting treated at Asaripallam government hospital in Kanniyakumari after developing severe health complications. Sampath has been suffering from ailments for which he had been under regular medications. Recently, he travelled in a train from Chennai to Nagercoil and fell unconscious. After fainting down in the train, he reached train's final stop of Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. 

After knowing that he has reached Thiruvananthapuram, his family members rushed there and admitted Sampath to Cosmopolitan Hospital in the city for initial treatments. On Tuesday, his family brought him to Tamil Nadu and admitted him at Asaripallam government hospital in his native for further treatments. It has been reported that Nanjil Sampath is getting treated under critical care and that his health will get stable in some days. 

His son Sarath Baskar, who is also a doctor, is close to his father, who is under medical observation. Nanjil Sampath was the propaganda secretary of MDMK under Vaiko's leadership. Sampath had a long association with Vaiko and he joined ADMK in 2012 and ventured his politics under Jayalalithaa's leadership. Jayalalithaa appointed Nanjil Sampath as ADMK's deputy secretary of propaganda. 

He had dissented against Jayalalithaa in the later days and after the demise of Jayalalithaa, Sampath was briefly in Jayalalithaa's close aide VK Sasikala's camp. However, for the past few years, he was not associated with any party directly but he has been supporting the DMK. Known for his controversial interviews, Nanjil Sampath has been spending time with literature and cinema. According to reports, Chief Minister MK Stalin had spoken with Sampath's son Sarath Baskar and inquired about his father's health condition.
