Top Telugu actor tests positive for the COVID-19 viral infection!

In a shocking development, reputed Tollywood actor Ram Charan Teja has tested positive for the COVID-19 viral infection and he has put himself in home quarantine. The 35-year-old actor took to Twitter on Tuesday and issued confirmation that he had contracted the viral infection. He asserted that he is asymptomatic and requested those who have come in close contact with him to get tested. 

Taking to Twitter, Ram Charan issued a statement in which he said, "I have tested positive for COVID-19. No symptoms and quarantined at home. Hope to heal soon and come out stronger". In his Twitter note, the Telugu star wrote, "Request all that have been around me in the past couple of days to get tested. More updates on my recovery soon". 

In November, Ram Charan's father and veteran actor Chiranjeevi has said that he had tested positive for the global pandemic and under quarantine. However, he later revealed that he hadn't contracted the viral infection and his result came positive due to a faulty PCR-kit. Responding about the development, Chiranjeevi said, "A group of doctors did three different tests and concluded that I am COVID negative and that the earlier result was due to a faulty RT-PCR kit. My heartfelt thanks for the concern, love shown by all of you during this time. Humbled". 

On the work front, Ram Charan began shooting for SS Rajamouli's directorial "RRR" earlier this month. In what would become yet another magnificent picture from the Baahubali director, RRR has roped in reputed national faces. Ram Charan will be sharing screen space with Junior NTR, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, and Olivia Morris. RRR will be getting released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. 

Rajamouli had earlier said that RRR will be a fictional story set in the 1920s pre-independent era and it will be based on few years in the lives of two well-known revolutionaries- Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, who fought against the British Raj and the Nizam of Hyderabad, respectively. Ram Charan made his debut in the 2007 Telugu movie 'Chirutha'. The actor rose to popularity for starring in several blockbuster movies like Magadheera, Racha, Naayak, Rangasthalam, and Zanjeer.
