The latest news is that all four of Lokesh Kanagaraj's films—Maanagaram, Kaithi, Master, and Vikram—have been published as books with full screenplays, and they are all available at the 46th Chennai Book Fair. Actor Suriya's 2D Productions had previously announced that the screenplay for Jai Bhim would be available as a book in the event of the same.

The film Maanagaram, released in 2017, marked his directorial debut; subsequent films by him, including Kaithi, Master, and Vikram were critical and commercial successes. Lokesh Kanagaraj has begun filming Thalapathy67 with Vijay and Trisha in the lead roles, where the film's launched after pooja ceremony on December last year. However, the official announcements for the film are expected to be made after the release of 'Varisu'.

The film also stars Nivin Pauly, Arjun, Mysskin, and Gautham Vasudev Menon, in addition to Sanjay Dutt, Mansoor Ali Khan, and Arjun. Aniruth will take care of music, where the film's script writen by Lokesh along with Ratnakumar of Meyadha Maan fame. The ‘Thalapathy 67’ schedule in Jammu and Kashmir may begin in February and the team is currently shooting in a film city in Chennai. ‘
