The fans are eagerly waiting for an update on Vijay's upcoming movie, tentatively titled Thalapathy 68. The movie, directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by AGS Entertainment, is expected to be a blockbuster with a star-studded cast and crew.

However, the makers of the movie have not yet revealed the official title or the first look posters of the movie, which has been kept under wraps for a long time. According to some sources, the team was planning to announce the title and release the posters on the auspicious occasion of Pongal 2024, which falls on January 14.

But, in a tragic turn of events, the veteran actor and politician Vijayakanth, who was fondly called as Captain by his fans and followers, passed away on Thursday in Chennai after a prolonged illness. He was 71 years old and had acted in more than 150 movies in his illustrious career. He was also the founder and leader of the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) party, which had a significant presence in Tamil Nadu politics.

Thalapathy Vijay, who had shared screen space with Vijayakanth in the 1996 movie Sendhoorapandi, was one of the first celebrities to pay his last respects to the departed leader. He visited Vijayakanth’s residence and offered his condolences to his family members. He was seen with tears in his eyes as he paid homage to his senior colleague and mentor.

Given this sad incident, the team of Thalapathy 68 has reportedly decided to postpone the title announcement and poster release of the movie as a mark of respect to Vijayakanth. They have not yet confirmed the new date for the update, but they have assured the fans that they will soon reveal the much-awaited details of the movie.

The film has music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, who has teamed up with Venkat Prabhu for most of his films. The cinematography will be handled by Siddharth Nuni, while the editing will be done by Venkat Raajen. The stunts will be choreographed by Dileep Subbarrayan.
