Trending Buzz: Ulaganayagan to share screen space with this prowess actress for the first time in Maniratnam's Thug Life

The film Thug Life, directed by Maniratnam which is said to be a sequel to the cult classic Nayagan, will mark the first time that the former Miss World will share screen space with the versatile actor Kamal Haasan. The film’s shoot is set to begin on January 18th in Chennai.

Now the film industry is abuzz with the news that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is joining hands with the legendary director Mani Ratnam once again for his upcoming film Thug Life. Thug Life will follow the story of Sakthivel Nayakkar, the ageing don of the Mumbai underworld, who was portrayed by Kamal Haasan in Nayagan.

The film, which was loosely based on the life of real-life gangster Varadarajan Mudaliar, is considered to be one of the best Indian films of all time. Thug Life will explore the challenges and conflicts faced by Sakthivel in his twilight years, as he tries to protect his empire and his family from his enemies. Jayam Ravi is rumoured to play the role of a Collector.

The film will also feature the music of the maestro A.R. Rahman, who has given some of the most memorable tracks for Mani Ratnam’s film history. The film will have Ravi K Chandran as the cinematographer, Sreekar Prasad as the editor, and Anbariv as the stunt choreographer. The film is produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International and Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies, along with R. Mahendran and Siva Ananth.

Thug Life has an ensemble cast that includes Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Dulquer Salmaan, Abhirami , and Nasser, who will play pivotal roles in the film. The makers have also roped in some new star additions for the film, such as Gautham Karthik, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Malayalam star actor Joju George. The film is expected to be a grand spectacle that will showcase the brilliance of Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam, who have given us the iconic Nayagan.
