The fans of Thalapathy Vijay are in for a treat as the star is all set to play a dual role in his upcoming film ‘Thalapathy 68’, directed by Venkat Prabhu. The film, which is produced by AGS Entertainments and has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, is expected to be a mass entertainer with a lot of twists and turns.

Vijay, who has previously impressed the audience with his dual roles in films like ‘Kaththi’, ‘Mersal’ and ‘Bigil’, will reportedly play twin brothers in ‘Thalapathy 68’. This will be the first time that Vijay will portray such a role in his career.

According to sources, the film will have two leading ladies, one of whom is likely to be Jyotika, who has worked with Vijay in ‘Kushi’ and ‘Thirumalai’. The other heroine is said to be a popular pan-Indian actress, whose name is yet to be revealed.  The film will also have Jai and other Venkat Prabhu regulars in supporting roles.

The official announcement of the film was made on May, with a video that showed a newspaper puzzle that circled the name of the production house, producer, music composer and director. The shooting of the film is expected to commence in November, after Vijay completes his work on Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Leo’, which is slated to release on October 18. ‘Leo’ is a gangster action drama that stars Vijay, Trisha, Sanjay Dutt and Arjun among others.

‘Thalapathy 68’ is one of the most anticipated films of Vijay, who has a huge fan following across the country and abroad. The film will showcase Vijay’s versatility and charisma as an actor, as he will play two different characters with different looks and personalities. The film will also have some high-octane action sequences and catchy songs that will appeal to the masses. The film is expected to release in mid-2024 and will be a treat for all Thalapathy fans.
