Since the release of the thundereos blockbuster Vikram, everything associated with Lokesh Kanagaraj's project has been the subject of nonstop online discussion. Director Gautham Menon has officially announced that Thalapathy 67 has also joined the film, and the news has fans of both in a state of awe. The legendary filmmaker's last film was the critically acclaimed Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, which starred Silambarasan, and garnered glowing reviews.

It's interesting to note that the Lokesh films are part of the emerging "universe trend," which could mean that Gautham Menon will be joining the likes of Kamal, Vijay Sethupathi, and Fahadh Fazil in the film's stellar cast. He said in a recent interview that he is in Thalapathy 67. Gautham said, pointing at Lokesh across the table, "I'm in his film (Thalapathy 67). I saw him now and since he gave me his nod to divulge this, I'm confirming it here now."

There have been rumours that production on the promotional video and filming of Thalapathy 67 are taking place covertly at Prasad Studio in anticipation of the release of Varisu on Pongal. Actor Vijay's next film, Thalapathy 67, already boasts a stellar cast including Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Mansoor Ali Khan, and Sandy, and now Gautham Menon has been added to the cast as a connecting link.

Furthermore, both Trisha and Priya Anand will play starring roles in the film. If it's a Universe film series, Kamal Haasan or Suriya will likely make a cameo appearance as well. Meanwhile, rumour has it that Lokesh is planning to cast Prabhas in an upcoming film, further propelling him into the limelight. By having multiple protagonists across the ever-growing canon of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe, he makes the fans to go more than exciting.

However, the long-awaited theatrical releases of Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha and Dhruva Natchathiram, both directed by Gautham Menon, have yet to take place. Gautham Menon also has upcoming roles in films including Michael, 13, Yours Truly Veda, and Anuragam.
