The much-awaited fantasy film Genie starring Jayam Ravi has been officially announced today. The film, which is the 32nd project of the actor, is produced by Vels Films International and has music by the legendary AR Rahman, which marks the actor's second teaming with the composer after Ponniyin Selvan film series.

The title look poster of the film was unveiled on social media, along with the details of the cast and crew. Genie is said to be a pan-Indian film that promises to captivate audiences across the world with its magical story and stunning visuals.

The film will be directed by debutant Bhuvanesh Arjunan, who was a former associate of Mysskin. The film will feature not one, but three  as the female leads - Krithi Shetty, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Wamiqa Gabbi, who have all made a mark in their respective industries. The film went on floors today in Chennai with a grand pooja ceremony that was attended by the cast and crew of the film.

Genie is reportedly made on a massive budget of around Rs 100 crore and will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam languages. The film has Mahesh Muthuswami as the cinematographer, Pradeep E Ragav as the editor, Umesh J Kumar as the art director and Yannick Ben as the stunt director. The film is expected to hit the screens very soon.

Genie is one of the most anticipated films of Jayam Ravi, who has several other projects in his kitty. He will be seen next in Iraivan opposite Nayanthara, which is slated to release on August. He also has Siren co-starring Keerthy Suresh and Anupama Parameshwaran in the pipeline, and an untitled film directed by M. Rajesh, which will have Priyanka Arul Mohan and Bhumika Chawla as the female leads.

Jayam Ravi, who was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s epic Ponniyin Selvan, looked dashing as he posed with his co-stars at the event. Surprisingly, the actor to work in the fantasy genre for the second time after PS, and moreover the shelved project of Sundar C, Sangamithra, also to feature the star, which is also the epic fantasy drama, as the director is said to be revive the project once again.
