Maamannan, the upcoming political thriller from the acclaimed director Mari Selvaraj, has set the internet on fire. The film, which stars Udhayanidhi Stalin, Keerthy Suresh, Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu in pivotal roles, is a story of power, politics and media currently.

The riveting trailer released on last Friday, has nowremarkably garnered over 10 million views on YouTube in just a weekend. The former actor Udhayanidhi Stalin took to Twitter and wrote, "10 M views on the #MAAMANNAN trailer. Thanks for the support. Trending #1.".

Maamannan, which means ‘kingmaker’, is one of the most anticipated films of the year as it marks the return of Selvaraj, who has delivered two critically acclaimed films, Pariyerum Perumal (2018) and Karnan (2021), that dealt with caste oppression and social justice. Maamannan also features the comeback of comedy legend Vadivelu, who plays a central role in the film.

The trailer of Maamannan has created a huge buzz among the fans and critics alike as it promises a gripping and emotionally charged cinematic experience. The trailer showcases the clash between two powerful political leaders, played by Udhayanidhi Stalin and Fahadh Faasil.

And Keerthy Suresh plays a journalist who exposes the truth behind their rivalry. Vadivelu plays a character who is deeply entrenched in a serious atmosphere and has a powerful scene that reveals his connection to the legacy of Dalit struggle.

The trailer also features a gut-wrenching song by AR Rahman, who is collaborating with Selvaraj for the first time. Maamannan is produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant movies and is slated to hit the theatres on June 29. The film has cinematography by Theni Eswar and editing by Selva RK.
