The highly octane action thriller film "Pathaan" garnered rave reviews from fans and critics alike, and the box office numbers certainly reflect that. The film, directed by Siddharth Anand and written by Shridhar Raghavan and Abbas Tyrewala, from a story by Anand, The film team has announced that "Pathaan" has collected a staggering Rs. 629 crores in India and Rs. 380 crores in foreign countries, and in total the film made whopping Rs. 1009 crores.
And now, according to reports, Pathaan will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video on April 25, 2023. It's intruging to note that the film's director confirmed in an interview with popular media outlet that the OTT version of the film have more scenes, which got trimmed in theatrical vesion. He mentioned that the character's (Shah Rukh Khan's) backstory might be revealed in a scene that could be included in the digital release.
The fourth installment in the YRF Spy Universe, "Pathaan" stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Dimple Kapadia, and Ashutosh Rana. The story follows exiled RAW agent Pathaan (Khan), who works with ISI agent Rubina Mohsin (Padukone) to take down Jim (Abraham), a former RAW agent planning to spread a deadly lab-generated virus across India.
"Pathaan" was theatrically released in India on 25 January 2023, coinciding with the Republic Day weekend, and the film has been smashing box office records ever since. It has grossed ₹1,039.42 crore (US$130 million) worldwide, making it the highest-grossing Indian film of 2023 and the second-highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.
The film was released in 8000 screens worldwide, including 5000 screens in Hindi and 450 screens in Tamil and Telugu versions within India. Despite facing protests and controversies leading up to its release, "Pathaan" has emerged as a massive success and remarkably dominated at the box office. At the film's success meet, the crew teased fans with the possibility of a sequel, leaving audiences eager for more.
