Trending talk: Ponniyin Selvan sets a new record...Surpasses this blockbuster movie in box office!

The first part of Ponniyin Selvan, the masterwork, the tale of the cholas, and the visionary undertaking of master filmmaker Mani Ratnam, is roaringly setting new records every day. The movie is currently making more money than Vikram, which starred Kamal Hassan. Since June, Lokesh Kanagaraj's Vikram has held the honour of being Tamil Nadu's highest-grossing movie. 

The iconic Ponniyin Selvan is starred by Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Jayaram, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Sobhita Dhulipal. The movie has succeeded in unseating Kamal Hassan's Vikram from the top of the throne. On Saturday, a well-known film industry analyst tweeted about PS 1's progress. "#PS1 overtakes #Vikram to become All-time No.1 Grosser in TN," he tweeted.

In another tweet, he penned, "#PS1 grosses ₹ 50 Crs from USA alone.. First Tamil movie to collect 50 crs from a single overseas territory". Overall Ponniyin Selvan has grossed Rs. 276 crores approx in India and Rs. 424 crores worldwide as of Friday, where Vikram grossed 180.92 crores in Tamil Nadu and Ponniyin Selvan garnered 182 crores in Tamil Nadu alone. 

It is worth to note that Rajamouli's Bahubali: The conclusion's mark was 146.10 crores. Another national film business expert reported that PonniyinSelvan will be breaching ₹200crs in Tamil Nadu and it's global gross is ₹433crs in 2weeks, and Hindi gross is ₹25crores. He wrote, "#PonniyinSelvan will be breaching ₹200crs in TN & is now - No.1 grosser in TN - No.1 Tamil overseas grosser - Global gross ₹433crs in 2wks - Hindi gross ₹25crs #PS1 has set the #BoxOffice on(fire emoji)".
