Trending Update: Kangana Ranaut drops the release date of her next venture Emergency!

The much-awaited film ‘Emergency’, starring Kangana Ranaut as the former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, has finally got a release date. The makers of the film have announced that it will be released in theatres on June 14, 2024. The film is based on the controversial period of the Emergency, which was declared by Indira Gandhi in 1975 and lasted for 21 months.

The film’s poster, which was shared by Kangana Ranaut on her social media, shows her in a striking resemblance to Indira Gandhi, wearing a white saree and a red bindi. The film also features Anupam Kher as the political leader Jay Prakash Narayan, who led the opposition against the Emergency.

Taking to X, Kangana ranaut shared the release update, writing, “Unlock the story behind India’s darkest hour. Announcing #Emergency on 14th June,2024 Witness history come alive as the most feared & fiercest Prime Minister #IndiraGandhi thunders into cinemas  #Emergency in cinemas on 14th June,2024".

‘Emergency’ is touted to be a captivating historical drama, weaving together the intricate threads that led to the imposition of the Emergency and its enduring aftermath. Joining Ranaut on this extraordinary journey are actors Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik, each playing pivotal roles. The film is penned by the illustrious Ritesh Shah, known for the critically acclaimed film ‘Pink’.

The film is proudly brought to life by Ranaut’s own production company, Manikarnika Films, with GV Prakash composing the music. The film is expected to be a riveting portrayal of one of the most turbulent times in Indian history, and a showcase of Kangana Ranaut’s versatility and talent as an actor and a producer.
