The much-awaited action thriller Rathnam, starring Vishal in the lead role, has finally announced its release date. The film, directed by ace filmmaker Hari, will hit the screens on April 26, 2024, in both Tamil and Telugu languages. The film’s poster, which was shared by the film team on social media, has created a huge buzz among the fans and the industry.

The poster shows Vishal in a rugged look, sporting a commercial action avatar. Vishal, , took to X to share his excitement about the film. He wrote, “Save the date for our biggie this summer #Rathnam hits the screens on the 26th of April 2024. In Tamil and Telugu. A film by #Hari. Coming to theatres, summer 2024. A @ThisisDSP musical.” 

Rathnam is said to be a high-octane action entertainer, with a strong social message. The film boasts of a stellar cast, including Priya Bhavani Shankar, Samuthirakani, Yogibabu, and Gautham Vasudev Menon in pivotal roles. The music of the film is composed by the rockstar Devi Sri Prasad, while the cinematography is handled by the talented M Sukumar.

The film was shot in various locations across Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, such as Thoothukudi, Trichy, Karaikudi, Vellore, Tirupati, and Chennai. Rathnam is expected to be a grand comeback for Vishal in rural actioner, who was last seen in the 2023 film Mark Antony, which received positive reviews from the critics and the audience.

Rathnam is also the fourth collaboration between Vishal and Hari, after the successful films Thamirabarani, Poojai, and Kaththi Sandai. The fans are eagerly waiting to see the duo’s magic on the big screen once again.

Noteworthy contributions from stunt choreographers Kanal Kannan, Peter Hein, Dhilip Subbrayan, and Vicky promise stunning and dynamic action sequences. Art Director P V Balaji, Editor T S Jay, and the entire crew have come together for the entertainer.
