The much-awaited sequel to the 2005 blockbuster Chandramukhi is finally gearing up for release. Chandramukhi 2, starring Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut in the lead roles, is a comedy horror film written and directed by P. Vasu, who also helmed the first part. The film is produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under the banner Lyca Productions.

One of the highlights of Chandramukhi 2 is the return of actor-comedian Vadivelu, who played the iconic character of Murugesan in the original. Murugesan was a loyal servant of Rajinikanth’s character, who was also a hilarious coward and a source of comic relief in the film. Vadivelu’s performance was widely appreciated by the audience and critics alike, and his dialogues became popular catchphrases.

Vadivelu is the only actor from the first instalment who will reprise his role in the sequel as well. The actor, who has been away from the limelight for a while, is now busy dubbing his parts for the movie. Taking to social media, the  makers have shared a video of Vadivelu dubbing in the studio with director P. Vasu.

The video shows Vadivelu in his element, delivering his lines with perfect timing and expressions. The actor seems to be enjoying himself as he brings Murugesan back to life on screen. The video has gone viral among the fans, who are eagerly waiting to see Vadivelu in the legendary role.

Chandramukhi 2 also stars Raadhika Sarathkumar, Lakshmi Menon, Mahima Nambiar, Rao Ramesh and others in supporting roles. The film’s music and background scores are composed by M. M. Keeravani, who recently won oscars. The film’s cinematography is handled by R. D. Rajasekhar and the editing by Anthony. Chandramukhi 2 is scheduled to release on September 19, 2023, coinciding with Ganesh Chaturthi. The film will clash with Mark Antony at the box office. The film’s streaming rights have been sold to Netflix.
