Trouble for 80-year-old TN man, who shot two men: Got booked under murder charges!

80-year-old Natarajan, a native of Palani in Tamil Nadu, has on Tuesday got booked under the section of murder after one of the victims, against whom he opened fire, had succumbed to the injuries amid getting treated in Madurai.

Natarajan is the owner of Valluvar theater in Palani, Dindigul, and on Monday, he opened fire against two men with whom he had a land dispute. The two injured men - Palanisamy and Subramani were rushed to Rajaji Government Hospital in Madurai after sustaining injuries. While Palanisamy was out of danger, Subramani went to a critical state following which the hospital had taken efforts to save him. 

However, 60-year-old Subramani has passed away on Tuesday at the government hospital. According to reports, the sexagenarian had sustained injuries to his stomach and his health has got deteriorated due to the level of injuries. Initially, he was admitted to the Dindigul Government Hospital and after the setback in his health, he was taken to Madurai for higher treatments. 

The doctors had removed the bullets from his body. The reports say that the bullet had injured his intestines and the blood vessels near the stomach. Though the bullet was removed, his health had worsened and he breathed his last on Tuesday and upon having the confirmation that he has demised, the police had booked Natarajan, who shot and injured the two men, under section 300 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code. 

In a shocking development, theater owner Natarajan had on Monday lifted his gun and shot the two men, who came to negotiate with him to mitigate the land dispute that he developed with local farmer Ilangovan. When Palanisamy and Subramani had arrived at Natarajan's residence which sits on Appar street, Palani, the octagenarian took his gun and shot them and he also shot at a third man who was seen throwing a log on Natarajan against the shooting. 

The incident took place at a broad day-light and the CCTV footage captured the scene where Natarajan was seen pulling out the pistol, for which he had a license, and shooting at Subramani and Palaniswami one after the other. The video was surfaced on social media platforms and the visuals shocked how the scenes unfolded. 

Subramani and Palanisamy had sustained injuries following which they were rushed to the hospital for further treatments on the evening hours of Monday. However, Subramani had succumbed to the injuries on Tuesday despite the efforts to save him. The police had arrested Natarajan for opening fire and causing injuries and he was kept under investigation. The gun was later seized and following the demise of Subramani, the police had booked Natarajan under the murder charges. 

Palanisamy had sustained injuries to the hip and he has been getting treatment and a bullet was removed from his body. There was a land dispute between Natarajan and farmer Ilangovan for many years. The peasant had owned 12 cents of land in Appar street but Natarajan, who lives close to the property had claimed that a portion of the land belongs to him. Amid the dispute, Illangovan had hoarded fence around his land. 

However, Natarajan had strongly objected to the fencing following which the peasant had brought his relatives Subramani and Palanisamy to defuse the dispute with Natarajan. However, when the trio went for negotiation, Natarajan pulled out his gun and started shooting them. When Illangovan had fled the spot, the two - Subramani and Palanisamy had got injured from the shooting.
