That two unfulfilled dreams of Actor Vivek!

For actor Vivek, his ultimate desire was to sow a good and change in society. In his career spanning over three decades, he had tenaciously worked and etched his path to inject love and humanity both on and off the screens. His unparalleled contribution to the Indian cinema and society had inspired millions to follow his footprint with the dream of achieving like the Padma Shri actor.

If you ask the young generation to name their inspiration, they would collectively name former Indian President Bharat Ratna Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. While millions of people dreamt of meeting the people's president, Vivek is the only one from the Indian cinema who observed a close relationship with Kalam and the actor had interviewed Kalam in his own style. As a protege of Abdul Kalam, Vivek had followed the former's footprint and turned out to be the savior of ecology.

Being inspired by Kalam, Vivek launched the "Green Kalam" initiative with the aim of planting trees. While Vivek had fulfilled the dream of meeting Abdul Kalam, which was the highest dream for the younger generation during Kalam's period, and launching his dream project of Green Kalam, the Padma Shri actor had breathed his last with two unfulfilled dreams in his life. Vivek passed away in the wee hours of Saturday at the age of 59 in Chennai due to cardiac arrest.

His untimely demise had left the Indian cinema with incessant dusk and surfaced immense shock to the fans and fraternities. From the Prime Minister to several actors, the entire country mourns for the loss of India's pride, who touched millions of hearts. What would be the unfulfilled dreams of Vivek besides observing a close relation with Abdul Kalam? In the view of the public, he had two unfulfilled dreams, and let's look into them.

Acting with Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan: Vivek had been accoladed with several national and state honors and recognitions and during his three-decade-long career, Vivek has worked with the leading stars of the Tamil Cinema including Superstar Rajinikanth, Vijayakanth, Vijay, Ajith, Suriya, Vikram, Sarathkumar, Prashanth, Simbu, Dhanush, Jayam Ravi, Vishal, and Karthi. He also had acted with current trending heroes including Hip Hop Tamizha Aadhi and Harish Kalyan. However, he didn't work with Kamal Haasan.

Though he hadn't joined hands with Sivakarthikeyan and Vijay Sethupathi, Vivek had desired to act with Kamal Haasan and the former had apparently shown his interest in acting with Kamal at the movie events. However, the time was against Vivek in his desire and his incessant desire had come true when he finally joined hands with Kamal in Shankar's 'Indian 2'. The shooting was underway and Vivek had shared the screen space with Kamal at the shooting.  However, Vivek had witnessed a setback in the movie.

The movie shooting was halted owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, mishaps at the shooting spot, Kamal's political entry,  and Shankar's venture in Telugu and Hindi films. Amid such developments, Vivek was admitted to SIMS Hospital in Chennai on Friday after he suffered a cardiac arrest, a day after receiving the first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine. He was in critical condition and placed at the Intensive Care Unit. Amid the prayers from across the country for his speedy recovery, Vivek has passed away in the wee hours of Saturday.

He had breathed his last without seeing him on the screen with Kamal Haasan. The untimely demise of Vivek had raised a question over his acting in the Indian 2 movie. While Vivek can't see his dream fulfilled, the fans can enjoy watching Vivek with Kamal Haasan on the big screen if the Indian 2 movie team decides to keep scenes acted by Vivek with Kamal Haasan. However, it is unlikely that the movie team keeps the scenes unless his part of the movie is completed. If his scenes were to be removed, his dream of acting with Kamal Haasan will be unfulfilled. It must be noted that Vivek was introduced by legendary director Balachander, who introduced Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth.

Planting one crore saplings: While comedian Vivek's dream was to act with Kamal Haasan, the dream of social worker Vivek was to plant one crore saplings through his dream project 'Green Kalam'. He has launched a massive tree-planting project in 2011 through which he displayed his environmental activism. The aim of the project was to campaign against global warming.

He has planted nearly 33.23 lakh saplings so far and he has targeted to plant one crore trees in his lifetime through Sai Prasanna Foundation that he started in his son's name. He also had traveled across the state and spread awareness about global warming and environmental protection, particularly among the student community. He has formed a team of volunteers to accomplish his target and he had successfully planted 33 lakh saplings. Amid his drive towards reaching the target, he has now breathed his last on Saturday.

Not able to plant one crore saplings was his second unfilled dream in his life. But, it's undeniable that he had torched a fire among the young generation and they would come forward to accomplish his dream. Vivek lived as the oxygen of inspiration for many downtrodden artists and people and after his demise, he will continue to be the oxygen for the younger generation through his life and through the trees that he planted.
