Udhayanidhi Stalin triumphs in his debut election: Gets a huge win in Chepauk- Triplicane! What's the vote margin?

In what has become a spectacular victory of powering a transformation as the active politician, DMK's Udhayanidhi Stalin has got a remarkable triumph in his debut legislative election after winning the Chepauk- Triplicane constituency with a huge margin. DMK's Youth wing secretary has hit the shore safely through the pro-DMK wave as the party gets a stellar revival to form the new government in Tamil Nadu after remaining in the opposition for a decade.

Through electing the DMK candidate, Chepauk- Triplicane has again proved that it stays as a stronghold of the DMK, which is one of the reasons why the party leadership decided to field him in the constituency. Along with the pro-DMK wave, one of the strong factors that supported Udhayanidhi is the lack of potent contenders in the opposition. The ADMK alliance had fielded PMK member Kassali, who has less prominence in the constituency.

The elections were held on April 6 and the vote counting took place on Sunday. Udhayanidhi Stalin was leading since the beginning of the counting and finally, he has been declared as the winner. Junior Stalin has secured 78,529 votes while Kassali had ended up getting 19,438 votes as of 5 pm. As the trend remained, Udhayanidhi Stalin had won the seat in the margin of over 59,000 votes.

While the DMK celebrates his victory, the reports say that Udhayanidhi Stalin will be under scrutiny over the dynasty politics in the DMK. Udhayanidhi has been witnessing his sharp rise in the party and after gaining popularity through cinema, he came active in DMK after becoming the managing director of Murasoli, the party's mouthpiece, which is his first role in the party. In a short period of time, he was then appointed as the party's youth wing secretary.

When the elections neared, it was strongly speculated that Udhayanidhi Stalin will be on the race through the DMK's ticket. But, MK Stalin was not ready to have the allegations of dynasty politics disturb him in this crucial election. However, some of the senior leaders close to Stalin have asked the latter to provide a ticket to his son to contest in the polls. The episodes of talks had finally ended by convincing Stalin to field Udhayanidhi Stalin from DMK's stronghold of Chepauk- Triplicane.

With the ticket, Udhayanidhi had faced his first test, and eventually, he had succeeded it and all set to enter the assembly for the first time. Apart from contesting in Chepauk -Triplicane, Udhayanidhi Stalin has also campaigned across the state as one of the party's star campaigners. While Udhayanidhi Stalin will become an MLA for the first time, his father MK Stalin will become the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister for the first time.

Chepauk- Triplicane constituency remains to be the DMK's stronghold since Karunanidhi's leadership. The DMK patriarch, who died in 2018, had won thrice from the Chepauk constituency before its unification with Triplicane and after the unification, DMK leader J Anbazhagan had represented the Chepauk- Triplicane constituency two times in the assembly in 2011 and in 2016 elections. Anbazhagan had passed away in 2020 due to the COVID-19 viral infection and now Udhayanidhi has won the seat.

While the counting is underway, DMK is confirmed to have won the elections with many national leaders have been wishing and congratulating MK Stalin for the resounding victory. By the time of writing this content, the DMK alliance has been leading in 156 seats, and the ADMK alliance leads in 78 seats while Kamal's Makkal Needhi Maiam, Dhinakaran's AMMK, and Seeman's Naam Tamilar Katchi have been trailing in the race.
