From Ukraine to Jeffrey Dahmer: A look at the list of our top searches in 2022!

As 2022 nears its end, Google has revealed what the world searched for throughout this year as the first three spots of the list topped with Worldle, India vs England and Ukraine. Google's 'Year in Search' for 2022, as it does every year, compiles a list of the most-searched terms from the previous calendar year. Cricket is a hugely popular sport in India, but this passion is echoed in people's search trends all across the world.

In 2022, however,  The only game tops the list, Wordle which became immensely popular and quickly spawned a slew of upstarts. Worldle, in which players are given a shaded outline of a country and six chances to correctly identify the locale, was one of the most intrigued the folks. What follows is a list of the top search terms of the year as reported by Google.

IPL, CoWIN, and the FIFA World Cup were the search terms People in India highlighted . Asia cup, T20, Brahmastra Part one - Shiva, eSHRAM card, Common wealth Games, KGF Chapter 2, and Indian Super League were made up the list. In the early months of 2022, they also hung on to the sensational buzz surrounding the "Agneepath Scheme," which topped Google Search's "What is" category.


Entertainment:

In India, People were obsessed with movies, Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva. Movie goers also searched for K.G.F Chapter-2, and Kashmir Files. RRR was the fourth most sought movies searches in 2022 followed by Kantara, Pushpa: The Rise, and Vikram. While the entire globe loved Thor: Love and Thunder, Black Adam, Top Gun: Maverick, The Batman, Encanto, Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva, Jurassic World Dominion, K.G.F: Chapter 2, Uncharted, and Morbius.

People:

Due to his broadcast live litigation trial against his ex-wife, Amber Heard, who was the third most searched person of the year, Johnny Depp was the most searched person on the planet. The second most searched person this year was Will Smith. From fourth to tenth place, respectively, were Vladmir Putin, Chris Rock, Nova Djovic, Anna Sorokin (Delvey), Andrew Tate, Rishi Sunak, and Simon Leviev. While Indians searched for Nupur Sharma, a BJP spokeswoman who had been suspended. Droupadi Murmu, the president of India, came in second, with Rishi Sunak, the prime minister of the United Kingdom, coming in third.
