US Elections: Armed with Trump's claim and rifles, his supporters stage protest in the battleground state!

While Donald Trump has launched his legal battle to halt the vote counting and demanding the recount in the battleground states where Biden is keeping the lead, the supporters of the incumbent had gone to the extent of staging protests based on the unsubstantiated rumors that votes for the Republican president were not being counted deliberately. 

As the declaration of results is taking longer than expected in the wake of the overwhelming turnout of the early mail-in ballots, it has been stirring the uncertain outcome with the supporters of both the candidates are expressed their anger and frustration over the delay, which had emerged some of the disproven claims even from the President himself who alleged voter fraud and claimed that he had won the presidency, amid having millions of uncounted votes. 

Amid such developments, a crowd of Donald Trump supporters, some armed with rifles and handguns, gathered outside an election center in Arizona on Wednesday night local time based the rumors that Trump's votes are deliberately not being counted. The protestors were gathered in front of the Maricopa County Elections Department in Phoenix after the crucial western state was bagged by Biden in his column.  

According to Reuters, the protestors were chanting 'stop the steal' and 'count my vote' and most of them were seen without masks. Armed with Trump's claim of 'Democrats stealing the election' and with handguns, the protesters had stirred protests across the country. While most of the news agencies had projected that Biden would win Arizona, Trump's campaign had said that the state is still having many uncounted votes. 

The reports say that rumors spread on social media on Tuesday night that some votes registered in Maricopa county were not being counted because voters had used sharpie pens to cast their ballots. However, the local election officials had denied the allegations and asserted that such allegations were not true. Some of the protesters said that they came out to agitate based on the tweet from the right-wing activist. 

Arizona has been a potential pick for Joe Biden, which had given him a crucial boost to win the magical number of 270 to take over the presidency from Trump. With the count still underway in several key states like Georgia, Nevada, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Michigan, Biden has been leading in Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Nevada. Trump had accused the Democrats of trying to steal the election without evidence. 

Trump has filed lawsuits to stop counting in the states of Michigan, Georgia, Arizona, and Pennsylvania while he had demanded the recount of votes in Wisconsin. While the overwhelming mail-in ballots are expected to delay the election results, the episodes of lawsuits and protests had stirred more uncertainty across the country. On the other hand, the demonstrations were held in New York and Portland, pushing the law enforcement agencies to arrest them.

As the Trump supporters hold on to their leader's claim that Democrats are stealing the election, cities like New York and Portland had witnessed demonstrations held by the supporters of Democratic nominee Joe Biden. Portland police had arrested 11 people and seized fireworks and rifle and Oregon Governor Kate Brown had deployed the National Guard in response to the protests in the city. The New York Police department said that they had made about 50 arrests in protests that spread in the city. 

Cities like Denver, Atlanta, Detroit, and Oakland had also witnessed similar rallies from the supporters of both the candidates demanding to count the votes without any deterrence. According to the Associated Press, by the time of writing the content, Joe Biden nears the victory with securing 264 electoral votes, six votes short of attaining the magical number of 270 while Trump is trailing by securing 214 electoral votes, mostly from the Republican safe states.
