US Elections: This Tamil Nadu village offers prayers for Kamala Harris to win the polls!

As the US Presidential election nears the climax of unfolding who has won the tightly fought race in taking the reign of the world's powerful country, the whole world has been anticipating the result of what would shape the country in the next four years. Being dubbed as the most important election in the lifetime of every American, the voters would be answering whether to award incumbent Donald Trump another term in the White House.

Trump's contender Democrat Joe Biden and Vice Presidential pick Kamala Harris have strongly been hoping to oust Trump from the White House and to rebuild the country, that got plummeted in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak and the economical distress. While Biden and Harris have taken a clear lead in most of the nationwide surveys, Harris has now received the wishes and prayers from the other side of the world, thousands of miles away.

While Kamala Harris looks for a victory with a sharp majority against the incumbent pair of Trump and Pence, she has got prayers from her ancestral hometown of Tamil Nadu, India. Kamala Harris's mother Shymala Gopalan was from Tamil Nadu and the latter got migrated to the United States in the 1960s. As Kamala Harris had attained the feat of becoming the US Vice-Presidential candidate, her ancestral village had offered prayers at the temple for her victory.

According to reports, the residents of Thulasendrapuram in Tiruvarur district of Tamil Nadu had performed a special puja at Sri Dharma Sastha temple in the village on Tuesday for Kamala Harris to get a grand victory in the US Election, which will be held on Tuesday. In what had become a rarest of a rare event, the organizers of the puja had offered free food on the temple premises.

The reports say that the puja was attended by around 200 people and they all prayed for Harris's victory in the elections. Speaking to media, J Sudakaran, who is one of the organizers of the event and also the President of Green City Rotary in Mannurgudi said that they had prepared and served Idli and Sambar, which is the favorite food of Kamala Harris, which she recently revealed.

Sudakaran stated that around 22 people had participated in the special puja for Kamala Harris's victory and added, "We hope that she will become the Vice-President of the United States and she will make our country and the residents of her ancestral village proud". He also expressed that the villagers are eager to meet her and the residents appealed to her to visit the village after she was sworn in to hold the second-highest office of the United States.

Through winning the major party's ticket, Kamala Harris has become the first Indian origin VP candidate in the United States. Her maternal grandfather PV Gopalan was a native of this village. Gopalan was a former Indian diplomat. Earlier, when she was named as the VP candidate of the Democratic party, the residents of  Thulasendrapuram had hoarded the banners in the village hailing her candidacy and celebrating her for achieving the feat.

According to the latest survey carried out by the New York Times and Siena College, former Vice-President Joe Biden holds a clear advantage over President Donald Trump across four of the most important presidential swing states - Florida, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania.

The poll, which Trump would hate, has likely conveyed the message to the President to get mentally prepared for exiting the White House and if Biden goes by the poll and if he secures lead in three of these four states, he would be nearing the victory and if he manages to win Florida, Biden would most probably be winning the election with the margin higher than what Donald Trump got in the 2016 election when he defeated Hillary Clinton. According to the United States Elections Project, at least 92 million people had voted early either in person or by mail, which is a record in the US Presidential elections.
