US Elections: Trump faces a major blow! How his legal battle had turned against him?

With being mentally unprepared to accept the fact that the time has seemingly come for him to leave the office, intolerating Trump has been upholding his rhetoric and false claims around the election of what, he thought would favor him, has been turning against him with Democratic contender Joe Biden leading in the crucial battleground states. His bid to create chaos has now given him a major blow with two of the crucial states had rejected his lawsuits to stop the vote counting.

Donald Trump has been showing signs that he is unwilling to brace up the fact that the American people had rejected him to serve the country for four more years, as the sequel of how he served in the last four years. As Joe Biden is leading the race and getting close to the magical number of 270 to enter the White House, the current occupant of the nation's highest office has been launching the battle to apply brakes to Biden in keeping lead and unveiling the false claims that the election was being stolen from him.

As the world's strongest economy has been witnessing the strong and unprecedented political divide, the Republican incumbent has been trying to somehow mitigate the narrowing path that is getting against him, and when the states of Michigan, Georgia, Wisconsin, Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Nevada have been the key players to decide the race, Trump has either been looking a victory from these states or to stop the counting if these go against him.

Amid the neck-and-neck battle, Trump's campaign has filed lawsuits in Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, and when he demanded a recount of votes in Wisconsin, he had urged to stop the counting of votes. When Trump expected to have a favorable outcome, the judges in Georgia and Michigan had rejected his lawsuits, which had become a major blow to Trump. In Michigan, Trump has sought to stop the counting of absentee ballots while in Georgia, his campaign had alleged that even improper ballots are getting counted.

However, Judge Cynthia Stephens in Michigan and Judge James Bass in Georgia had rejected Trump's lawsuits. The legal experts said the cases had a little chance of affecting the electoral outcome. Michigan judge noted that Trump's request to stop the count made little sense, given that the counting has been finished in the state. According to the Washington Post, Michigan's Attorney General's office had described Trump's request as an attempt to unring a bell. Similarly, the incumbent's threat of a lawsuit in Georgia was rejected as the Judge disqualified his efforts to stop the counting.

After his legal battle turned against him, Trump had upheld his rhetoric and aired disproven claims that the election was being stolen from him. On Thursday, Trump addressed from the White House, and in his address that lasted for about 15 minutes, he fiercely attacked the country's democratic process and he flayed election workers and alleged voter fraud in the states that are pushing Joe Biden towards the victory.

Without offering concrete evidence, Trump said, "This is a case where they (democrats) are trying to steal an election". Earlier his flawed claims had instigated protests across the country where his supporters had protested with the slogan of 'stop the steal'.  Following Trump's address at the White House, Joe Biden took to Twitter and said, "No one is going to take our democracy away from us. Not now, not ever. America has come too far, fought too many battles, and endured too much to let that happen."

According to Reuters, Joe Biden leads the race with 253 electoral votes against Trump, who has got 214. Biden's number includes Wisconsin and Michigan as most of the polls predict that Biden holds a strong lead in these two battleground states. With the ballots cast on the election day were counted, the election workers are levied with the difficult task of counting millions of mail-in ballots as most of the American voters registered their votes through mail amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The reports say that final results in each state could take days and revealing that Trump's days are getting numbered, most of the news agencies had projected that most of the mail-in ballots would go for Joe Biden. With states like Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Nevada having lakhs of uncounted votes each, the whole world is watching as Biden has been nearing the victory. On the other hand, Trump has been unveiling measures that will help him in some way to have relief as he has been trying to avoid becoming the first incumbent US President to lose a re-election bid since George HW Bush, who lost the re-election in 1992.
