Venkat Prabhu's first Telugu debut Custody got its release date! Makers shares the deets

In the wake of Maanaadu's success, director Venkat Prabhu of Tamil is expanding into Telugu cinema. The 22nd film of the Telugu actor, he will next be seen in an action-thriller with Naga Chaitanya, titled Custody. This is Prabhu's first Telugu film, and it's also Chaitanya's first bilingual film (in Telugu and Tamil). Surprisingly, the film's score was composed by the legendary father-and-son duo Ilayaraja and Yuvan Shankar Raja.

The first look poster of Chaitanya from the film was unveiled last month on the actor's 36th birthday. The film will see Chaitanya play the role of a police constable. The production house of the film, Srinivasaa Silver Screen, announced the release date by taking us to Twitter. "#Custody in theatres on May 12, 2023 (sic)" the tweet by the production house read.

Custody is Naga Chaitanya's first bilingual film, and it's being billed as an action thriller (Tamil and Telugu). Krithi Shetty plays the female protagonist in the movie. The cast includes Arvind Swami, Priyamani, Sampath Raj, Sarathkumar, Premgi, Vennela Kishore, and Premi Vishwanath. Arvind Swami plays the villain, and Krithi Shetty plays Naga Chaitanya's love interest, in the film.

Pavan Kumar is in charge of the film's presentation, while Srinivasa Chitturi is in charge of production. The legendary composer Ilayaraja and his son Yuvan Shankar Raja worked together to create the score for the movie. Ilaiyaraaja is responsible for the composition of the songs, while Yuvan Shankar Raja will done the background score.
