Veteran comedian Mayilsamy has passed away! Celebrities and people in flood paid tributes at the funeral procession

On February 19, the renowned comedian Mayilsamy passed away in Chennai. He died from a cardiac arrest and expired. His family reportedly rushed him to the Porur Ramachandra Hospital after he complained of discomfort in his Virugambakkam residence. This incident has shook the film industry to its core. MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, condoled the passing of Mayilsamy.

Film industry, political celebrities, and fans paid respects to Mayilsamy's body at Saligramam in Chennai. On Maha Shivaratri, it was Lord Shiva who took his most dedicated devotee, according to superstar Rajinikanth, who paid his respects and said as much. He went on to say that he would fulfil his friend Mayilsamy's dying wish and that his death was a tragedy for the film industry and humanity.

He further added, "Vivekh and Mayilsamy's demise are a huge loss not just to the cinema industry, his family and friends, but to entire humanity. They are great social thinkers and socially responsible human beings. It is not a coincidence that Mayilsamy died on Shivaratri. It's God's plan. God has taken away his favourite devotee on Shivaratri. I don't know what to say to his family members."

Actors Rajinikanth, Prabhu, Vijay Sethupathi, the film industry, youth welfare and sports minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, AIADMK ex-minister Jayakumar, members of political parties and fans paid tributes to Mayilsamy's body. The internet is awash with night scenes from his final Shivratri festival appearance, as well as scenes from his final dubbing session.

Today on Monday, the funeral procession of actor Mayilsamy started from Saligramam house to Vadapalani crematorium. As Mayilsamy was a devotee of Lord Shiva, before his funeral, devotees played Lord Shiva Purana at his residence. The body was then taken via 80 feet Arcot road as a funeral procession. On the way to the funeral procession, people and screen celebrities gathered like flood on both sides and paid their respects. The last rites were performed at Vadapalani AVM cemetery and the body was cremated.

The actor's first film debut was K.Bhagyaraj's 'Dhavani Kanavagual' in a minor role followed by Pandiarajan's 'Kanni Raasi'. His performance in Kangalal Kaithal Sei earned him the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Comedian. Together with Drums Sivamani, he attended the Shivaratri Puja at the Shiva temple in Kelambakkam, close to Chennai, on Saturday night.

After visiting the temple, he returned home at 3:30 am the previous morning. His family took him to the hospital right away after he complained of chest pain. According to the doctors who examined him, Mayilswamy had already passed away.
