Vijay vs STR...This is Pongal fight!

After bracing up the COVID-19 fight and unprecedented restrictions in its backdrop, the Tamil cinema is getting ready for the Pongal fight - which is typical for the state in witnessing the clash of stars in their movie releases during one of the most celebrated festival seasons in the state. As the theaters, that have been resumed seven months after being under lockdown, hope for the remarkable new year to uplift their fallen industry, the fans are hoping for a relishing one and a perfect Pongal treat from their favorite stars.

As Tamil Cinema would witness the essence of the current year during Pongal 2021, it's less likely that the theaters would release more movies and as Pongal would usually see the release of the movies of big stars, the upcoming festive season holds more importance for the fans as well as for the theaters as they are preparing to release the movie on FDFS after a long period, while the gap was filled by the OTT platforms.

Fans and theaters are getting ready for a mega New Year opening as Vijay starred 'Master' is expected to hit the big screens during Pongal and Thalapathy fans are eagerly waiting for the release of the movie that had got deferred for eight months due to the pandemic and when it was strongly speculated that 'Master' would be the only movie to get released in theaters during Pongal, STR has come to the race as the reports say that his movie 'Easwaran' has also been slated for Pongal release.

Though there has been no confirmation, the reports suggest that if all go well, Tamil Nadu would see a Pongal fight between Vijay and Simbu, in what would become an unprecedented race of the stars with the growing amount of stardom. While 'Master' is done with the teaser already been released, the movie is expected to get released on January 13. While the teaser has created incessant excitement from the fans, the trailer is likely to get released on January 1, as Thalapathy's New Year gift to his fans. When the trailer is out, it would be made public about the date of the movie release.

After knowing that Master is coming for Pongal, the reports say that some of the movies that planned to hit the big screens during Pongal have now deferred their released dates and it was strongly expected that 'Master' would be the only movie to get released on theaters during Pongal. However, Simbu has signaled that he is ready for the challenge as 'Easwaran' would also be expected to hit the screens during Pongal.

According to reports, the release rights of 'Easwaran' has been bought by Siva of 7G distributions and he has planned to release the movie on January 14 as direct competition against Master. The development had stirred speculations and sent relishing news for Simbu fans. However, it's still dubious on the possibilities in which Easwaran gets a theater for release as most of the theaters had decided to released Master. It has triggered a clash of stars who hope for a significant breakthrough in the New Year.

'Master' is produced by Xavier Britto's XB Film Creators and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. While Vijay plays a lead role, Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Andrea Jeremiah, and Gauri Kishan have been roped in for important roles. Anirudh has composed the music and the movie's teaser was released during Diwali and it has become the most viewed teaser on Youtube in India, which perfectly captured how the fans are eagerly waiting for the release.

On the other hand, Simbu has completed acting Easwaran in thirty days and it is ready for release. Being the first movie of STR after the lockdown transformation, it has created major expectations from his fans. The movie is directed by Suseenthiran while produced by Balaji Kapa. Simbu plays the lead role while Niddhi Agarwal and Bharathiraja will be playing important roles. Thaman has composed the music and it is a village-based subject. As the movies had surfaced speculations about the direct clash of Vijay and Simbu, the ardent fans of the respective actors are getting ready for the Pongal fight amid the treat from their favorite actor.
