Vijay's 'Master' beats 'Tenet' and 'Wonder Woman': Big news for Thalapathy fans!

Vijay's 'Master' is unstoppable and continues to dominate the box office across and beyond the borders and Thalapathy's Master blaster was welcomed in style across many countries that it rules the cinemas beyond India while it has been in the rain of money within the country. The much-anticipated movie of Vijay has now become the much-celebrated both on the corridors of a commercial entertainer and classy offering to his fans. 

Apart from India, Master is in the full speed of action abroad - particularly in the United Arab Emirates as Master has emerged as the biggest release in the UAE amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Vijay's Pongal treat has beaten top Hollywood movies in the Gulf country in the opening weekend collections. Master has surpassed 'Tenet' and 'Wonder Woman 1984' in their opening weekend in the Arab Emirates. 

'Master' has earned a total of Rs 9.8 crore gross, which is $1.34 million- higher than Tenet that collected $855,760, and Wonder Woman 1984 that banked $170,046 in their opening weekend in the Arab Emirates. The milestone of being a successful grosser in the Gulf country had perfectly captured how the movie was given a royal welcome than the Hollywood movies. The theaters in the UAE had attracted huge numbers of fans like in Tamil Nadu and across India. 

Movie critic and analyst Ramesh Bala has tweeted the UAE box office and reveals that Master had beaten Hollywood movies Wonder Woman 1984 and Tenet's opening weekend collections. According to Movie Planet, 13,000 people in UAE had seen Master on its first day of release while the number increased on day two with 47,000 and day three with 70,000. In the first three days - from January 13 to 15, the movie had earned Rs 9.8 crore in approx. 

With such an overwhelming reception in UAE, there is no need for a question in Tamil Nadu on how the movie is doing in the state. The first and hot combo of Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi was a splendid ad relishing Pongal treat for the ardent fans and the theaters in Tamil Nadu are still flooded with the fans amid the COVID-19 protocols. Master has been dominating the box office in the state and in the first three days, the movie, which was made with a budget of Rs 135 crore, had earned over Rs 60 crore in Tamil Nadu alone and the movie has been counting the revenue with the incessant and heavy downpour of money. 

The collection is remarkable when the theaters are permitted with 50% seating capacity. Master is bankrolled by Xavier Britto under the banner of XB Film Creators while Lokesh Kanagaraj has directed the movie, which marks the first collaboration for 'Kaithi' director to work with Vijay. While Vijay is playing the role of the college professor, Vijay Sethupathi plays the antagonist and Malavika Mohanan in the female lead. Andrea Jeremiah, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, and Gauri Kishan are playing important roles. Master is the 64th movie for Vijay and it is the first big Tamil movie to get released in the theaters after their resumption from the lockdown.
