Vijay's 'Master': Major announcement from the producers on the release!

Hours after the massive circulation of the speculations around Vijay's next 'Master' that the movie will be released on the OTT platform and Netflix has bought the rights of releasing the movie directly during Pongal next year, the film producers have come to the picture to respond to the speculations and issue conformity to the fans over the release. 

The statement from the production house has come when social media were spiraled with the speculations that the movie team has initiated talks with the leading OTT platform and decided to skip the release on the big screens, which had shocked Thalapathy fans who were waiting for Vijay's treat on the big screens and for the theater owners, who were waiting for a significant breakthrough both in footfall and revenue to revive the theaters from the financial distress. 

The statement from the producers has become a major announcement to the fans about the movie release in their bid to clear the clouds filled with rumors and in the statement, the producers have admitted that they were approached by an OTT platform. In the press statement, XB Film Creators and Seven Screen Studio revealed they were approached by the OTT platform to release Master exclusively by skipping the theaters. 

They said, "Though we have an offer from a reputed OTT service provider, we prefer the theatrical release, which is the need of the hour for the industry to survive the ongoing crisis". Through their statement, the reports say that the producers had confirmed that the movie will be released only on the big screens. However, the producers hadn't rolled out the official release date of the movie in their statement. 

The statement has said to have dispelled the rumors and addressed to the fans that the movie of their favorite actor will be released in theaters. The movie is expected to hit the big screens during the second week of January 2021, during the Pongal holidays. Through the statement, the producers have reiterated their assertions that Master is meant for the theatrical release. With the sharp surge of the OTT platforms in the Indian market, Vijay's Master has been witnessing the episodes of rumors and speculations over its release. 

Earlier, the producer had asserted that Vijay is very clear that the movie should be released in theaters and the producer has stated that its impossible for such a big project to get released on the OTT. The producer assured that the movie will get released after the resumption of theaters. As the theaters have resumed and started screening movies, the movie has been slated to get released during Pongal next year. 

The statement from the producers had come on Saturday at a high time when the fans have been trending the hashtag #MasterOnlyOnTheaters on the social media, in the mark to urge the producers to release the movie on the big screens and the assertions of the fans that it will be released in the theaters. As the producers had now negated the rumors and assured that they prefer to release the movie in the theaters, their statement has given a major relief to the fans and theater owners.

Vijay's 'Master' is directed by Kaithi fame Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by XB Film Creations. While Vijay plays the lead role, Malavika Mohanan plays a female lead while Vijay Sethupathi, Arjun Das, Andrea Jeremiah, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, and Gauri Kishan in the important roles. Anirudh has composed the music while Sathyan Sooryan has done cinematography. Master has created more expectations from the fans as they have been eagerly waiting for the release. 

The movie's teaser was released on Diwali and ever since the teaser was released, it has been making history and setting records even before the release of the movie. In one hour, the teaser hit 10 million views becoming the most-liked teaser on Youtube in India. On Thursday, XB Film creators took to Twitter and shared the relishing news for the fans that the teaser has crossed 40 million views.
