Vijay's 'Master' says NO to OTT release - see what the producer has said!

While most of the filmmakers have either switched or eyeing to switch to a new normal of getting their movies to the audience through the OTT platforms in the wake of the COVID-19 lockdown and the indefinite closure of the theaters, the producer of Vijay's next and most expected movie 'Master' has asserted that the movie won't go for OTT release and will hit theaters once everything gets normal.

The producer's announcement in his interview to a Tamil Channel has cheered Vijay fans to see the much-awaited movie of their favorite star in big screens. Bringing clarity, movie's producer Xavier Britto has dotted up the rumor that said the movie would be released on the OTT platforms which have become a new foot for the movie industries to walk on their path of reaching the fans and audience.

Britto said that the movie won't be released on the online platform. Actor Vijay is very clear that the movie should get the theatrical release after the resumptions of theaters. By issuing no confirmation on the exact time of the release, the producer stated that it would depend on when the things return to normal and when the theaters get reopened. 'Master' movie is a big project making it impossible to get released on OTT platforms.

He further added that Actor Vijay has said to wait till the resumptions of theaters. The development from the producer of Vijay's 'Master' deciding to stick to the theatrical release has come when Tamil Cinema had seen the release of the movies in OTT platforms. Jyothika starred 'Ponmagal Vandhal' and Keerthy Suresh starred 'Penguin' had released on the Amazon Prime.

Both of the films had received welcoming attention from the audience as they have also been settling up for the new normal with having no idea when the things get revived. The release on the OTT platforms has been criticized by the theater owners as such releases would endure them to bear a huge loss.

'Master' is Vijay's 64th movie and has been directed by Kaithi fame Lokesh Kanagaraj and the movie has Vijay Sethupathi and Malavika Mohanan in the lead role while Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Gouri Kishan, and Arjun Das had acted in the movie. Anirudh has composed the music. Master is the first project between Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj and the movie was planned its release on April 9. However, it has been deferred due to the lockdown. According to the reports, the movie is hoping to hit the screens on this year's Diwali or next year's Pongal.
