While Thunivu frenzy hasn't quieted down since the film's release, fans were treated to a delightful update on the film's digital streaming release. H. Vinoth's high-octane actioner, which opened in theatres on January 11 by locking horns with Vijay's Varisu, has received very extraordinary reception from fans around the world, furtherly it enters the 100-crore club.
Thunivu has been premiering for 10 days, and there has been strong talk on a digital premiere of the film, that the OTT giant Netflix has set February 10, 2023 as the rollout for Thunivu. However an official confirmation from the OTT giant is expected. At the box office, the Ajith starrer has been a rousing reception, despite the neutral critic reviews. In India, the film's earnings dropped to under 3 crore by Friday. Nonetheless, industry report suggests that this was anticipated and will gain steam again over the weekend.
The digital rights of this latest biggie were reportedly purchased by Netflix for 65 crores. Thunivu marks the third collaboration between director H Vinoth producer Boney Kapoor and actor Ajith, following Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai. A heist thriller, Thunivu portrays the actor in a roguish and fearsome role. Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects bankrolled Thunivu along with Zee Studios. The satellite rights have reportedly been purchased by Kalaignar TV. Nirav Shah undertook the cinematography and the tune was composed by Gibran.
After the success of Thunivu, the ultimate star has joined with Vignesh Shivan on AK62, and filming is set to start at the end of this month. Netflix also got this next big movie, which was recently confirmed by the same. Strong reports also have comedy actor Santhanam and Arvind Swamy to play the crucial roles in the film, which is being backed by Lyca Productions and may star Nayanthara or Keerthy Suresh in the lead female role.
