The countdown has begun for the grand birthday celebration of one of the most versatile and talented actors in Tamil cinema, Suriya. The star, who will turn 46 on July 23, is all set to surprise his fans with a special announcement about his upcoming film, tentatively titled Suriya43. The film marks the 100th movie of composer GV Prakash, who has teamed up with Suriya for the second time after the blockbuster Soorarai Pottru.

Suriya43 is directed by Sudha Kongara, who also helmed Soorarai Pottru, which won five National Awards and received critical acclaim across the world. The film is based on the life of Captain GR Gopinath, the founder of Air Deccan, India’s first low-cost airline. The film was released on Amazon Prime Video in 2020 and became one of the most-watched Tamil films on the OTT platform.

The expectations for Suriya43 are sky-high as the dynamic trio of Suriya, Sudha Kongara and GV Prakash are expected to deliver another masterpiece. The film is said to be a gangster drama with a hard-hitting impact. The shooting of the film is likely to begin in the next half of this year.

GV Prakash, who is also busy as an actor, hinting the project at recent times. He also wished Sudha Kongara on her birthday and expressed his excitement for her next project in Tamil after the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru, which stars Akshay Kumar in the lead role, and the actor composer also to join with Suriya - Vetrimaaran's Vaadivaasal.

Suriya’s fans are eagerly waiting for the official announcement of Suriya43, which is expected to be made on July 23 as a birthday special for the actor. The film is said to be produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment, and reports had it that the film will be based on the true events, not a biopic.  The cast and crew details are yet to be revealed.
