Actor Vijay is gearing up for a Pongal clash with his fellow thespian Ajith over the release of his upcoming flick Varisu. While both the icons are going to lock horns for the first time in nearly a decade, their ardent fans are counting days to relish the movies. Vijay's Varisu and Ajith's Thunivu are all set to hit the big screens during the occasion of Pongal in January 2023. 

Ahead of the Varisu release, Vijay has been hosting a meeting with his fans-cum-members of his outfit 'Vijay Makkal Iyakkam' in Chennai. As the actor has thousands of such members across the state, he is rolling out the meeting gradually at the outfit's head office in Panaiyur in the outskirts of Chennai. At each episode of meeting, Vijay is holding talks with the members from three districts. 

Last month, Vijay had held such a meeting during which he met the district administrators of Vijay Makkal Iyakkam from the districts of Namakkal, Salem, and Kanchipuram. During this meeting, the actor took photos with his fans for the first time in five years. His outfit has said that Vijay will be meeting the administrators of other districts at regular intervals. 

In line with that, Vijay will be holding another round of meeting on Tuesday - December 13 in Panaiyur office. It has been reported that he will be meeting the district administrators of his outfit from the districts of Ariyalur, Perambalur, and Chengalpattu on Tuesday. During the meeting, Vijay will inquire about the activities carried out by Vijay Makkal Iyakkam in their districts and he further will give instructions to them. 

Varisu is most likely to hit the theatres on January 12 and the flick is produced by Dil Raju under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations while it is directed by Vamshi Paidapally. It is the first time that Vijay has joined hands with the Tollywood team and while Vijay plays the lead role, Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead and Prabhu, Sarath Kumar, Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Shaam, Srikanth, and Yogi Babu play important roles. S Thaman has composed the music and it has been reported that Varisu's audio launch will be held on December 24 at Nehru Stadium in Chennai.
