Viral story: Chiranjeevi is the Best Indian Film Personality of the Year...PM Modi lauds the megastar!

Legendary actor Chiranjeevi has nationwide prominence for the wide range of characters he had played in his illustrious career. Adding a feather to his cap, the actor has been conferred with the honor of Best Indian Film Personality of the Year. The bestowment has been celebrated by the Tollywood industry with several stars and leaders including the Prime Minister extending wishes to the actor. 

Announcing the honor, Anurag Thakur, the Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting and Youth and Sports Affairs, took to Twitter and wrote, "Indian Film Personality, Sh Chiranjeevi Ji has had an illustrious career spanning almost four decades, w/over 150 films as an actor, dancer & producer. He is immensely popular in Telugu Cinema w/ incredible performances touching hearts! Congratulations Chiranjeevi." 

Lauding the actor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote, "Chiranjeevi Garu is remarkable. His rich work, diverse roles, and wonderful nature have endeared him to film lovers across generations. Congratulations to him on being conferred the Indian Film Personality of the Year at IFFI Goa." Responding to the appreciation, the versatile actor penned a thankful note, he wrote, "Feel Immensely Honoured and Humbled, Hon’ble Prime Minister Sri @narendramodi  Ji. Very grateful for your kind words!". 

Due to his diversified acting chops, Chiranjeevi has gained the respect and admiration of audiences from several generations by playing a range of roles. It is noteworthy that the veteran actor was the first from South India to be invited to the Oscars ceremony in 1987 and that, in 2006, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian honor. Director K. Balachander once said "Chiranjeevi has both Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth in him. Not only can he do action, he can also act."

The International Film Festival of India established the award for Indian Film Personality of the Year as a global recognition. The honoree is recognized for their "outstanding contribution to the development and growth of Indian cinema. Tamil superstar Rajinikanth received the 45th honor, while music composer Ilayaraja and the late singer S.P. Balasubramniyam received the 46th and 47th respectively.
