Veteran actor Sarathkumar, who is featuring as 'Periya Pazhuvettarayar' in Mani Ratnam's magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan, is busy with the promotional tour for the grandiose epic periodic drama. He attended the press meet on Wednesday, two days ahead of the movie's release. Sarathkumar has shared several updates about his upcoming projects.
Besides speaking about Ponniyin Selvan and Varisu, Sarathkumar has also opened up about Tamil cinema's iconic movie 'Surya Vamsam' in which he acted in the lead role. Helmed by ace director Vikraman, Surya Vamsam got released in 1997 and it remains one of the movies that has a cult following in Tamil cinema history. Speaking at the press meet, Sarathkumar has confirmed that Surya Vamsam is getting a sequel.
Though Sarathkumar had appeared in plenty of movies, Surya Vamsam gave him a career breakthrough and it still shines as one of his ceaseless movies. He appeared in dual roles in the movie and it was even remade in Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada and it holds a special place in the heart of cinephiles and still, there are thousands who would watch the movie if it gets telecasted on television.
As Sarathkumar has shared an update about the sequel to Surya Vamsam, it has been going viral on social media. He further revealed that official confirmation will be released about his next project on October 5 and he also stated that he is in discussions to work on a future project with director Gautham Vasudev Menon. The two lastly collaborated in the 2007 movie 'Pachaikili Muthucharam'.
