Actor Vijay and director Vetrimaaran, the epic collaboration that has been the talk of the town and the apple of fans' eyes for what seems like forever. In a recent media talk with a leading channel, the versatile actor and director and key player in Vetrimaaran's upcoming flick 'Viduthalai', Thamizh spilled the beans and confirmed the much-awaited collaboration between the dynamic duo.
He said, "I hear that Vijay's film with Vetrimaaran is confirmed. Vijay gave a nod to the line narrated by Vetrimaaran sir. I have no idea about the Vetrimaaran-Kamal project." He also added that he is not sure when the film will go on floors, as both Vijay and Vetrimaaran are busy with their respective projects.
It's worth remembering earlier reports surfaced indicating that Vetrimaaran had acquired the rights to adapt Kota Neelima's novel 'Shoes of the Dead' for his film starring Vijay. The novel explores the political context of farmer suicides. It's unclear whether Vijay will play a farmer or a politician, but the film will undoubtedly be a gritty, realistic drama that highlights Vetrimaaran's unique touch.
Vijay's performance in AR Murugadoss's Kathi, which was based on a similar premise well-received. With Vetrimaran's unique signature on the same problem, the influential will easily triumph once more on the screen.
Vetrimaaran is currently awaiting the release of Viduthalai Part 1, a period crime thriller based on a short story by B. Jeyamohan. The film stars Soori and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles and is slated to release on March 31, 2023. The trailer of the film, which was released recently, received rave reviews from critics and audiences alike for its gritty portrayal of police brutality.
Vijay, on the other hand, is shooting for his 67th film Leo with director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film, which just wrapped its Kashmir schedule, is now pursuing the next phase in Chennai with an ensemble cast and crew. Now the combination of Vijay and Vetrimaaran is sure to create a huge buzz among fans and cinephiles alike.
